An Emery Dress at Disneyland!

One of the most exciting things about working at a fabric company is seeing new designs come to life! I'm completely in love with Robert Kaufman's new lawn collection, London Calling, so it was so exciting when my coworker/buddy Nichole had a gorgeous Emery Dress created (designed by the uber talented Christine Haynes and sewed up by the super incredible Devon Lott). It was even more exciting when she asked me if I would mind wearing it and taking some pictures at Disneyland - WITH COTTON CANDY.

I mean, you'd have to be pretty silly to turn down cotton candy. So of course, I said okay!

Christine shared these on her blog today - but I wanted to post them here too, because, they're Disneyland, and fabric, and cotton candy!!!

Anyway, here's the dress:
Guys. Cave of Wonders.

my HAPPIEST FACE EVER when the cotton candy was full!
my MOST SAD FACE EVER when the cotton candy was gone.
Hooray! I can't wait to make an Emery Dress of my own!

Happy Sewing, Everyone.

Welcome to the Farm

A little over a year ago, the farming bug swept through my quilting friends. They were quilting along with the Farmer's Wife book. I was enchanted with the idea of making these cute little blocks, but also completely intimidated, so I did what any reasonable person would do: bought the book and put it on the shelf so i could do it later.

Well, I decided this year would be the year I started farming. I printed up all the templates and got to work. Here's my progress update about four weeks in:

I kinda want everyone to start farming now. Happy sewing, friends.
