Quilt!

It feels like it's been forever since I was able to post pictures of a finished quilt. But after finally settling in to my new house,  I can talk about one of the two I finished. This quilt has been in progress for what seems like forever. Honestly it's been several months since the first set of HSTs and then I lost the motivation to sew them all together. But here is the quilt. Finished and lovely. :)

I think this quilt is lovely. The colors are my favorites. :)
The quilt finishes at 69 x 57.

4 Star Quilt

Well, as you know I've been on a fabric fast, which has given me lots of time to put together all those WIPs lying around. This quilt has been waiting for the perfect binding material, which I promptly purchased at the end of my fast. This quilt is special to me because it was the first time I used free-motion quilting. I also outlined the stars with 3 different Aurifil thread colors 1/4" apart each. The quilt is about 61" x 61" and it's the perfect size for snuggling. I truly love this quilt, but I'm thinking of possibly putting it up on Etsy. Any thoughts?

WIP baby quilt finished.

One of my co-workers is about to have his very first baby girl. So I finished up this WIP and have decided it will be for him. :) It was meant to be a disappearing 9-patch, but I didn't do a very good job following the  directions and ended up with this. Hope you all like it!

Star Quilt!

One of my friends is having a baby. :) She's not due for several months, but it's never too soon! I've been drooling over all the star quilts I've seen everywhere online, and so I leapt at the opportunity to try out Cluck Cluck Sew's Star Block Tutorial. Thank you, by the way, I LOVE IT!

I made the wise purchase of a Nest Fat Quarter Bundle from the Fat Quarter Shop, and I used 15 or 16 of the 24 fabrics. For the center images I fussy-cut Ikea farm friends fabric! :)

The backing is mostly a Robert Kaufman fabric, and I also made one more Star Block with my favorite character (the lady-bug) in the middle and rainbow points!

The Binding is a polka-dot fabric from Jenny's flat fold section. :P It just happened to work perfectly with this quilt.

Here are some close-ups of my favorite blocks!

This is my favorite block.

this is the square on the back of the quilt!
The finished quilt is 40x40 inches, which I think should give her some room to grow into it! :D

I love it so much, and I can hardly wait the few months it will take this baby to join the ranks of living people.

Ocean Quilt

Tonight was productive! I finished my lovely ocean quilt, and I can't wait to give it a cuddle test-run.

I am totally crazy for Polka Dot Binding.
Oh Yes, This is Love.
The colors make me giddy. I got the idea for this quilt from Red Pepper Quilt's Far Far Away Quilt! She's amazing, and her quilts always inspire me. I stitched in the ditch on all the horizontal and vertical lines of the squares, then did diagonal lines through the non-patterned pictures.
